San Francisco, CA – The Philippine showcased its game development talents and services at its Philippine booth in the Game Development Conference 2015 held at the Moscone Convention Center from March 4 – 6, 2015.

The Philippine participation to GDC was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry, Board of Investments, and the Game Development Association of the Philippines (GDAP). Philippine companies like “Gameops”, “Synergy88”, “Digital Arts Chefs”, “Indigo Entertainment” were represented at the booth.

Deputy Consul General Jaime Ascalon of the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco visited the Philippine booth and met with some of the members of the Philippine delegation.

Game development is among the fastest growing segment of the Philippines creative services.  There are an estimated number of  over 9.000 artists in animation, 4.000 professionals in game development, 15.000 in game support, testing and other related activities in contact centers. The development sector consists of the most globally competitive game programmers in Asia. Developing a wide variety of games for platforms like mobile, desktop, console and web. The art sector is equipped with the skills to perform 2D and 3D art and animation, character illustration, graphic arts, motion capture services, and music & sound production.

The Game Development Conference (GDC) attracts over 24,000 attendees, and is the primary forum where programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals, business decision-makers and others involved in the development of interactive games gather to exchange ideas and shape the future of the industry.

In addition, the GDC expo showcases all of the most relevant game development tools, platforms and services helping to drive the industry forward.  The next Game Developers conference will take place in Europe, August 3-4, 2015 in Cologne, Germany.
